I am an active 71 year old. Her workouts are a good length and emphasize gentle but thorough stretching of muscles and joints. She often mentions small do it this way not that way items that are very helpful. I do not mind the chit chat as there is never down time and she is always encouraging. Not really a fan of working out but this is working for me. I definitely recommend for a person who wants to be able to keep MOVING!
I had 4 complete seasons of Classical Stretch already when I thought about getting this one, so I questioned whether or not I really needed it. I'm glad now that I decided to go ahead and get it. Miranda is getting better and better. Some of her earlier workouts tended to make me sore, or aggravate my hip bursitis, so I had to be careful, especially with the plies. That's not the case with this set. I always feel very good when I'm done, and I don't hurt later on. It's a nice, gentle way to tone and maintain flexibility without hurting yourself or being pushed beyond endurance. I think we're all way past "No pain, no gain," now. Miranda's philosophy has always been that pain is bad. Just bad. I absolutely agree.I don't know why other workout DVDs don't tell you what equipment you're going to need for the workout, or sometimes even how long it is! The box with these DVDs shows clearly on the back what kind of workout it is (Standing, Floor, and/or Barre), and you know that they're all a manageable 23 minutes. And Miranda never uses weights, which I like. Weights tend to bulk me up and make me gain weight, and don't try to tell me it's all muscle. It's not, at least it wasn't on me.
Love this program for healing injuries, reducing chronic aches, preventing other joint issues. Great compliment to other exercises or as a stand alone exercise regimen. Keeps us able to do the things we love, dance, walk, work, ski, swim, etc.
Yes, I will continue to deal with neck, knee, ankle, and back discomfort. BUT overall my joints and muscles after 44 yrs working as a hospital nurse feel much better than they have for several years. I will continue near daily workouts. Thank-you Miranda Edmond-White!!
