This workout will either kill you or make you stronger and leaner, it works every muscle. In my case it built strength, increased endurance, and definitely provided a good cardio workout. I was in decent shape to begin with and struggled to finish any of the workouts.... but they still made a noticeable difference. I just did what I could until I could do it no longer. If I did this seriously I could probably solo flip a smart car even though I only weigh about 165lbs. This workout will leave you feeling satisfied and in good shape. I use a recovery drink (Mike's Mix) after every workout, it seems to help with soreness.
Insanity is....insanity. But I love it! Every workout ends with me drenched in sweat and panting but it is an amazing, calorie-burning experience. I have joint and back issues so for anyone that is not at the top of their game and that is on the fence -take it easy. The videos help you warm-up, work out, and cool down which is so important in an exercise program. I love the calendar that comes with this that shows which exercise should be done each day. I do not have the ability to work out 6 days a week, but have still seen incredible results. Shaun T is an amazing instructor and anyone who has the patience to try this hardcore workout should invest in this. It is completely worth the price.
This workout is excellent for anyone wishing to input some form of cardio HIIT training into their daily routine! The regime is 6 days/week with one rest day for 60 days. No weights necessary. However, I wouldn’t recommend it if weight loss is your primary goal. Neither I or my support group have seen much change on the scale after a month. So if that’s the case I’d recommend another workout regime OR combine this with some form of diet and/or other workout. (I should mention it does include a nutrition book for guidance.) But overall, it does give you a good sweat each time and you definitely see yourself progressively build your strength and endurance both physically AND mentally!
I was in the Army for 10 years. I know a hard work out. My drill instructor in AIT used to call Monday's our 'Fun Run' which meant anywhere from 8-15 miles. UGH. Not fun. Not fun at all. Now, I am out of the Army, I've had 2 kids and I am soft around the middle. I was running, trained for a 10K and I was bored. So I ordered Shaun T's Insanity.
