This set works perfectly, I’ve had zero trouble, start sweating within minutes, only to say I was suppose to get a free gift with it that was i think it said up to so much of a value if I ordered in time, but never received, the lady told It was included with my package but when I got it, it was missing

Challenging, fun, and it works!!!!!
I’m 23, female, average weight. I completed the insanity program following the calander 3 years ago, and it put me in the best shape I’ve ever been in. I’ve always been moderately active, but this program was really hard for me at first. It kicked my butt, and kicked me into shape. After doing insanity I was in the best shape of my life! It really slims you down and tones you up!I really feel that insanity changed my fitness forever. My cardio, strength, and endurance have all been better after insanity. I bounce back faster and easier when I’ve gone weeks without exercise.I know that if I do an insanity workout, it will be worth my while. It’s always challenging, never boring, and I always feel accomplished afterwards.I have never done the entire program again by the calander. I’m glad I did it the first time, but it gets boring doing the same thing everyday. However, I enjoy it so much that I still incorporate it twice a week, with running and other workouts on the other days.I highly recommend getting up early and working out first thing in the morning. You’ll spend the rest of your day feeling awesome, because if nothing else, you’ve done an intense insanity workout!! You’ll already have it over with and no excuses at the end of the day.Insanity is fun, and it works!!!!!!! I highly recommend it.

Wrecks your body
This is a very hard workout that is very hard on your body. I almost got to the end but it was so hard on my body I felt like it was damaging it. I workout a lot and I have never felt like my workouts hurt me like this did. Fast way to lose wait if that’s what you are after but knowing how bad it is for you body I wouldn’t recommend it. If you don’t workout regularly than this is going to be a difficult workout

Great Video, never missed a day, BUT WATCH FOR FAKES
My daughter wanted this video; I'm 49 years old and started it with her. Guess what, I NEVER missed a workout.Even while I travelled, I hooked my laptop up in the Hotel Gym and worked out.VERY MOTIVATING, this guy is motivating, even via the medium I pushed myself each and every day. Some of the people in the video would rest during a workout, making you feel that it's okay no to push it too far. After a while, you find yourself PUSHING the limits and feeling great about it.I highly recommend these workout tapes if you are dedicated. After I completed the program, Iooked and felt much better. However, I was slightly disappointed when I looked into the mirror. I think it's my age, I did not see the rips and muscles as I expected.CONS: If you buy one on Amazon, you may be getting a fake. Some of the bonus discs did not work.PROS: YOU CAN DO THIS

Good game plan.
Over all I think think this is a good work out program. My goal was to drop about 12 lbs and I thought this might be a good program to lead me to that goal. Personally I had more weight loss success with long distance running (slow and steady) and doing a VERY abbreviated version of PX90.The work out was difficult and I really improved my conditioning. I did not follow a specific dietary plan and they may be a reason I did not lose much weight. As I progressed in the program I pushed my own boundaries too quickly and my knees became really sore at week 6. There is a LOT of jumping, my advise is to build a strong base at a pace that works for you, you can always recycle through and push yourself harder the second time through and that would be better than having to stop because of injuries. Good luck, it is worth the effort.

The hardest and best workout you'll do.
You will get quick results with this workout series if you actually DO IT. You'll be very sore the first 2 weeks but then you'll hit your stride and you'll start to get stronger and people will notice. Its hard!!! But anything worth doing always is. I love that while it is cardio intensive, you build a lot of core strength. It will be hard on your knees so take it easy those first few weeks especially if you dont work out much. Ease into it and be ok to skip a day or two, but keep with it.

Sticking to this and not giving up!
I'm on the 3rd day of the program and I love it! My butt is still burning, my legs are burning, my arms are on fire, and I feel like I can barely get out of bed but I'm not giving up. No other program has ever given me the type of burn I need or motivation except Insanity. After going back to school and basically letting myself go due to late night studying and snacking/stress eating, and being dubbed overweight by my doctor, I'm ready to get back in shape. Shaun T is very motivational and gets me really hyped up. It's okay to take breaks if the exercises are too overwhelming but don't give up! I already see small changes in my body and it's only been the 3rd day!

Life saver workout
UPDATE AFTER 6 WEEKS: Now I am into second month 'max' workout. Lost a total of 15 pounds so far. My trouser waist size has gone down from 36 to 33. I drink protein shakes within 30 minutes after workout, that is helping me with my muscle recovery. I got myself a personal blender and I make my protein shakes with whey protein(optimum nutrition), almonds, walnuts, banana, apple and skim milk.Next update in a week. stay tuned.Original review:I am 35 year old , 5'6, and 191 lb when I started insanity. I had lot of belly fat with my tummy looking like I was 7 months pregnant( I am a man).I tried going gym before but could not motivate myself enough to drive to gym every morning in cold weather.I saw the infomercial on tv, bought Insanity DVDs and started the workout. 40 minutes a day, 6 days a week. Within 3 weeks, I lost 10 pounds. I lost almost 70 percent of my belly fat and i have flat tummy now, though its not ripped like Shaun T. I made a lot of diet changes, like drinking 10 bottles of water a day and reducing portions of food i eat. Also switched to eating 4 times a day with smaller portions. I dont take any recovery formula, but considering buying one.I cant ask for more motivation after seeing results like this. I am getting into week#4.Will keep updating my progress. but I want to tell this...this Insanity workout is a real thing. It works if you have discipline and dedication to follow the schedule.

Definitely insane!
If you want to REALLY transform your body then Insanity is it. I have been doing the workout for the past couple of weeks and I already see and feel a difference. I actually 'feel' by muscles getting tighter; I've never felt that before. I am in the Army, so I thought I was in pretty good shape until I started Insanity! LOL. I would not recommend this to someone who has never worked out before; start with something less intense like Shaun T's Cardio Abs or something. I like this workout better than P90X because you don't need any extra equipment. You will break a sweat in the first 10-minutes which is just the warm-up! I had the nerve to wear one of those sweat suits while doing this workout and when I took that thing off it was literally dripping wet like I just got out of the shower. It comes with a calendar that tells you which workout to do everyday. It is a total of 10 DVDs. The first 30 days you do the first 5 DVDs then you get a week off and start the next 5 for the next 30 days.
Todd B.
Used it to lose 20 lbs and get in much better cardio shape
If you follow these videos and need to improve your current condition, they WILL work. Expect to be sick to your stomach if you really push though as it's a very hard workout. I only give it 4 stars because the videos are in dire need of an update. I would like to see a timeline of exactly what is coming up for example instead of just a single time-bar counting down. You eventually learn when the breaks are coming, but a visual queue would be something to look forward to.

High Quality Materials and Program
This work-out product is both effective and incredibly well designed. Not only does the system itself deliver everything it promises (as long as you do YOUR part) it comes with some of the most beautiful and well organized materials I have ever seen. The case looks like an expensive coffee table book , complete with large faux pages covered in beautiful glossy photos of the exercises. These double as very clever section dividers to the disks. A sturdy pocket in the back of the 'book' houses your calendar, fitness test card, recipe book and nutritional guide. All this flash isn't required for a great exercise program, but since the program itself is exceptional, it is a nice bonus that the production quality and materials hold up to the same standard.

Weekly Updated Review - Day 17
Loving it so far! For the first month the average workouts are around 40 minutes which isn’t bad at all, especially since there’s cool down/stretching time included. To do this program you really have to be mentally committed, but I think it’ll definitely be worth it!Week One:Was very challenging to keep up with them so I focused on my form and pushing myself 100%. I figure if I don’t give it my all, I won’t get the results that I want so I went for it! After I completed each workout I felt amazing afterwards, when I work out with Shaun T in the morning, I feel like I conquer the day. I love that it doesn’t require any equipment at all, and to be honest you don’t need that much space either. Rather than listening to the audio, I turn it on silent and turn on my sound bar to listen to my own music. That keeps my energy up & this way I won’t get bored of listening to the same things for the next couple of months. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention that this week was full of sore muscles.Week Two:The two most notable things for this week were that I definitely gained more endurance and strength, and I also managed to gain a good 4 pounds. I felt like I had so much more energy during week two workouts, and my body felt stronger already. The 4 pounds I gained had me so confused so I did some searching online to see what the cause may be. A BB coach mentioned some other people asked her the same thing and that for the first 30 days you’re gaining muscle, but still have the same layers of fat. I think this is why the last 30 days of Insanity are kicked up so much. So I’m not going to worry so much about the extra pounds, and make sure I’m getting enough greens in!***Fit Test Update:Here are my results from Day 1 Versus Day 15Switch Kicks: 24 vs 44Power Jacks: 57 vs 63Power Knees: 70 vs 90Power Jumps: 25 vs 40Globe Jumps: 5 vs 8Suicide Jumps: 12 vs 14Push-up Jacks (knee push ups instead) 14 vs 19Low-Plank Obliques 38 vs 46All gains, I’m happy :) I’ll post updates after this week.

Worth every penny!
I had always wanted to try INSANITY for years and finally was able to make the leap back in August. I am in month two and I have watched my body transform for the better. Don't worry about keeping up with the class when you first start out, because as long as you do your personal best, you will see results. This strengthens your muscles to the max and as time goes on, you will catch up with Shaun T. and get better and better at the workouts!Starting weight/date: 180 lbs 8/1/2019 Current:166 lbs 9/10/2019Pros: Easy to follow format with REALLY effective stretches. You start to feel better and physically stronger after only a couple of work outs. What I have noticed for me and other users is that around the beginning of month 2, your tummy will tighten and for me it looks like I got a tummy tuck! Even though I am still overweight, I can see my abs a little bit and when I touch my stomach where I can see my abs, they are rock hard! This is a great exercise for building muscle. You will probably see inches lost quickly too. My posture and mood also improved really quickly.Cons: Although you see and feel results quickly, the number on the scale will not move very fast (heck, some people even saw it go up a couple of pounds the first 2 weeks). This is a really INTENSE workout and is not for everyone. You will feel bad for not being able to keep up with the class at first and you will feel weak for a week or two until your muscles strengthen. The best results come after completing month 2 from what I hear. You also have to have a lot of time to exercise because you will be exercising 30-59 mins a day/ 6 times a week. You will also need some time to recover because you will be worn out for awhile. You will get hot during the exercise so turn on the fan and make sure you have a towel and water handy.Overall: Best purchase I have made this year and would recommend it to a friend.

Sweat, sweat, and more sweat. YES!
I've done P90X twice, and it worked wonders. Insanity is another great BeachBody product. I've completed the first two weeks of the program, and am already seeing results - I lost nearly 4 pounds my first week week on Insanity.Insanity is different than P90X - P90X breaks you down and builds you up by training you to near-failure with body weight and dumbells, and Insanity pushes your cardiovascular system to the limit by moving faster and harder than P90X does (no weights used in Insanity). If you think Insanity will be a breeze because you can make it through a P90X workout without much trouble, THINK AGAIN! This is the real deal. It's tough, and you're gonna love it.If your goal is fat loss, I'd go with Insanity. Fat doesn't stand a chance against these workouts, but it's hard to gain muscle at such a high burn rate. If you want to put on a bit of muscle, but still get chiseled and defined, go with P90X.

Extremely Satisfied Insanity Works.
I am 58 yrs old and had lost 42 lbs over a year period without exercising. I was so out of shape with flabby arms and a rotund stomach. I was tired of just relying on my diet alone to lose and keep the weight off. I knew just from past experience that walking would not help me accomplish maintaining my weight. I researched youtube, online and tv commercials until I decided on Insanity. WOW! was I ever in for awakening. I was so out of shape that I could hardly do the exercises or keep up. Honestly It was embarrassing. I had to keep stopping to get my breath but I used a stopwatch to start and stop to get through all the workouts which meant a 40 minute workout turned into a 60 -80 minute workout. I sweated so much that there really was no dry area on my shirt and my t-shirt literally looked like I had soaked it in water. I could of quit but I refused and I keep with the schedule that came with the box set. One important thing I did was not to move to the second part of the program. I decided I would keep doing the 1st part over and over again until I could get through the whole routine without stopping then I will move to the much harder second part. I don't see any point in moving forward until I can finish the 1st part. My body has started and is firming up. No more saggy arms and the rotund stomach has shrunk and I can see the beginnings of a six pack. That to me is incredible as I have never had one. It is unbelievable the results I am seeing. It has been hard work but it works. It takes time for the out of shape people like myself to get up to speed but believe me it can be done. By waiting and concentrating on the the 1st 4 weeks of the program and repeating it over the next couple of months, I have got in shape and I can see myself getting stronger with every workout, breathing easier and having more energy. I really like the sense of accomplishment that I get from completing the workout. For those of you thinking about it, I say go for it. I started Insanity on June 5th and continue to do it everyday.I plan to start the harder 2nd part next month. I think by then I will be ready to increase the intensity and in good enough shape to do it.One other thing I my blood pressure which was high is now in normal range and I don't get tired like I used to. :)
K.Strange
Still haven't finished, but already know it was worth it.
Shaun T doesn't mess around. I have never sweated so much as I have doing Insanity. But at the end of it, you know you've done something good for yourself, and even though in the first month the workouts don't exceed around 40 minutes, when your head hits the pillow at night you'll sleep like a baby. I will be restarting the program this week, and when I finish the program will provide updates on real-people progress I see from doing it. The biggest thing if you buy this is that you have to hold yourself accountable. He can't tell you that you're not pushing hard enough, so you have to recognize when you can still give more. And the more you give, the better the results. I'm thinking about trying the hip hop abs addition to the insanity program after this!
Me
great workouts
This is perfect for the self starter that doesnt want to buy equipment to workout with. This is cardio and calisthenics at home without the need for additional workout gear. $150 is really a much better price than a $150/per week member ship for a Cross Fit which is the same kind of workout, but with people, equipment and not to mention, unsatisfactory timing for classes (I can do Insanity at home anytime of the day and not worry about missing a class). You should be somewhat motivated to do this as with any dedicated weight loss routine, if you are not dedicated it will not help you. The eating plan booklet was not a force-fed menu, but rather a LONG list of 300-400 calorie high protein, mini meal options for you to choose from. The book was helpful to me in that I can still take their suggested meal plan and integrate it with foods i prefer that are in the same caloric level. I learned how to eat better and what a high protien diet can do for a dedicated workout regimen. I did NOT get a six pack, but my muscle got extremely defined, my core was MUCH stronger than if i worked out on my own with thousands of crunches, and my endurance was outstanding. This programs works for what you put into it, I plan on taking a 3 month break from finishing the program, do other boring workouts, then start up again to get my abs to show a bit, because they are there, you will feel them, there's just too much belly fat to see them. This works.

BEST WORKOUT EVER
Best. Workout. Ever. Hands down!! And I've done them all (everything produced by Beachbody, as well as all forms of yoga - power vinyasa/ ashtanga/ Bikram/ hatha/ yin/ kundalini, plus I hold Yoga Alliance instructor certification). I also have a full-time (non-fitness) professional career and am a full-time single mom, age 42! THANK YOU Shaun T!!! I feel like a million bucks every single time I do one of these workouts - stronger, healthier, more capable and confident!! I feel so much more equipped in every aspect of my life just by doing the best I can do at the time in completing one of these programs. I'm just a human being, after all, and I bring to the table whatever I can for that day. Regardless of my starting point (mentally or physically), the results are the same - I end up an exponential amount better than where I was before. Again, thank you - reading these reviews brings tears to my eyes to think of the countless people you have inspired.

Insanity is extremely hard, but with the right diet and sticking to this exercise routine you will see results. Beachbody.com has also put insanity and all of the other workouts (such as P90x) online. For an annual fee of $99, you can get access to all of the workouts anytime anywhere. Definitely more bang for your buck!

this will kick your butt
If you want a hardcore intense cardio workout this is it. I am in pretty good shape but could not make it through any of the workouts initially. But that is okay, there is a set time to perform an exercise and if you last for 15 of 30 seconds than you just have a 15 second breather till the next exercise and everytime you can workout a little longer till you can keep up. With that being said you do need to have a certain level of fitness to get the most out of this. I would also not plan on doing any wieght lifting if you are following this program and doing it everyday. It would be to exhausting for the average fit person. But you could mix in a few Insanity workouts a week for cardio on your days off if you are an avid weight lifter. Sean the instuctor is in phenomonel shape and would like him to release a workout of what he does to mantain his size but I think that would step on Toney Horton's toes with his P90X series.

More than I expected!
The title says it all. I heard all the hype about this video and wanted to try it out. I finally ordered it and insane is the right word for it. I consider myself in pretty good shape. I run three miles three times a week which apparently is not as good as I thought. I did the fitness test which is the first video and was completely out breath and tired. I had no trouble sleeping that night. The second video I could not even finish in correct form I just did as much as I could and hoped for it to be over soon. The nutrition plan is great too.I would definitely recommend this video set to anyone serious about getting in shape.Update: August 30 2019I have completely finished the program. I have lost quite a bit of weight and my metabolism is very high. I started the program weighing 215 and I am down to 190. No more beer belly or love handles. The program is very intense but, stick with it and you will see great results.

Insane
I went hard in the paint with this one and only got as far as 2 weeks in the first time. Once I did T25 for 6 weeks, I had the endurance and strength to return to Insanity and it was hard but I was able to get through it a lot better. This is definitely a HARD work out but it's interesting and fast pace and I love it. I recommend it to everyone I know but if you're not already doing some sort of work out program, I would say it's a lot to manage from the gate. I don't follow the 6 days a week calendar because it's just exhausting, I do 4 days a week and then I do T25 or some sort of HIIT training for 2 days. I'm able to keep up with that schedule. 6 days a week is truly insanity! Love it and love Shaun, he keeps you motivated for sure!

Great home workout routine without equipment
This is an amazing home workout program that does not require any equipment. Keep in mind that many of the daily workouts are 1 or 1.5 hours, which can be a huge time commitment. And if you’re not already somewhat healthy and active, it will be very hard to keep up with and stay motivated - this is not for beginners. But if you stick with it, it really pays off. I did not see a lot of increases in muscle mass, but it really helped tone muscles and increase cardio endurance. Overall, if you have the time to commit, this is a great workout regime for those that don’t want a monthly gym membership and/or a lot of bulky gym equipment at home.

Great Workout if you can handle it...This is intense
I have been using this for 6 weeks now and missed 1 workout. I have not lost any weight. I am 6'2' 209Lbs and am very competive in everything I do. This is the toughest workout I have ever done. You work up a good sweat just in the warm-up alone. After that you still have 25-45 minutes of an ass kickin left.I would only recommend this for anyone who will not give up. If you are the type who doesnt give it your all then more than likely you will not make it more than 1-2 weeks with this program. If you have knee/back problems this probly won't be for you. There is a lot of jumping up/down and just overall movement that will challenge your balance. Most of the balancing comes into play during the 2nd month. Either way good luck and I hope this helped.

Pros:Will help you lose weightIf you eat right you will lose even more weightMotivationalSee results fastCons:The workouts are sometimes too long.Final Thoughts:I love this program and it will help you lose weight if you stay dedicated to it. I do like insanity 30 Max because the workouts are only 30 minutes. I still have this workout and I would do this workout again.

I haven't done this workout consistently enough to achieve any considerable results yet but I can say that it's a great workout. After giving birth to my son I still have an extra 30 pounds to get to my ideal weight so I decided to buy this set of videos. The meal plan has some recipes that are a bit odd but there's a lot of options when it comes to what you can eat. The videos keep you moving the whole workout. After the warm up you're dripping sweat and gasping for air. The next day your whole body is sore. I'm sure once I start to do the workouts every day that they will become easier as I get more in shape. I look forward to seeing the results that I know this program can give.

So far so good
I'm just about done with my 4th week and so far I feel great! The workouts have certainly been difficult but it's worth the extra energy I have all the time and I'm slowly starting to see some changes in my composition. I've only lost about 3 pounds so far (starting weight was 163 and I'm 5'10') but I really don't have too much to lose so its going to come off a little slower I guess. I've noticed some increases in strength and, like I said, my energy is through the roof because of how much better I'm performing cardiovascularly (probably not a word but you get the idea.)I'll write another review in 5 weeks with final results.
Don't Run Over Your Foot
Great program
I will do updates once I begin the second month, and then another one after I finish the entire 60 days INSANITY program. I will start out by saying that I was not out of shape when I started the program. I am currently in the middle of the second week. Here is a little more information about the program: there is a 60 day calendar included with the DVDs, which states what DVD you are supposed to do and when. It is common sense to follow. There is also a nutrition guide included which has formulas to calculate how many calories you should be consuming daily, when to consume them, and what you should be eating. There are also charts for improvising foods you don't like.Keep in mind that my opininon of the DVDs will vary differently than someone who has not worked out in awhile and/or is overweight. I started the program in order to find a way to keep myself motivated in the winter and also because I was getting sick of the same workout routine. I'm one of those people who has no problem working out as long as I'm being told what to do, I am also competitive which helps out a lot as there are some VERY fit people in the videos. The videos so far have been around 40 minutes long, and I like that there is a coundown timer on the bottom screen of the video for each exercise set and then one for the whole video. Each video I've done so far starts out with a 10 minute total warm-up which is done without stopping (exercises include a combination of jogging in place, jumping jacks, the heisman, buttkicks, high knees...etc). The warm-up is accomplished by doing a total of three rounds of a 3 min 30 sec set of exercises. Then there is a 5 minute stretching period. After this the hard part of the workout that will vary depending on what video you are doing. The pure cardio video is the hardest one I've done so far as there is 15 minutes of high intensity cardio exercises without stopping, and each exercise is a minute long. Some of the other videos were three rounds of a 2 minute exercise set, one or two other exercises done once, then three rounds of different exercise set followed by a five minute cool-down. There are times for water breaks in the video after the warm-up, stretches, after exercise rounds, and before and after cool-down. I also forgot to mention that there is a fit test every two weeks on the program. The things I don't like about the videos so far are the fact that upper body isn't incorporated very much except for push-ups. Since Sundays are off-days for the workout program and Wednesdays are cardio recovery, I would suggest doing a tricep and bicep routine on one of these days. I would also suggest incorporating a more in-depth stretching routine after the workout is over. I've found taking a walk after the video for the day is over followed by a detox bath is a great way to unwind.
BC's Rule!
Wow, almost done!
My wife and I decided to give this a shot after she watched the infomercial on tv. I try to keep in shape but had slacked off at the start of winter. We have one week left and I must say it is insane! I've lost around 28 pounds, which is what I wanted to do. I am a big guy, didn't buy this to get toned, I will never look like one of people shown, but I got through it and happy I did. Followed workout all way through (missed a few days...opps) and ate smart (low calorie intake). My feet were killing me at first as I was using running shoes, had to pick up a pair of cross trainers...same w/wife. Other then that, first few days were hell, then it got better...can't do each set as long as they do in video, but they tell you to do what you can...you'll get better. Shaun T is a cool dude and it never got old (except the music!) You have to be in somewhat good shape or I think you would drop out right away. Happy we made the investment! One more week insanity and i'll be sending for my free shirt!!!

A serious workout
Bought these for my daughter and she loves them. When she doesn't have time to get to the gym, she does this at home and what a workout! Once in a while, a friend will come over and they'll do it together. The instructors demonstrate the exercise and give variations depending on your fitness level so that you will be able to use these whether you're a beginner or a gym rat.

If you're not sweating, you're not trying or already dead
As of this review, I'm 24 years old, 170lbs, 5'11.Throughout the years I went from 225lbs to 165lbs. Nowadays, I seem to be going back and forth from 165 to 175lbs, so I took interest in the Insanity program hoping to get over my 170lb plateau. So I finally bought the DVD program and committed myself to doing all 60 days...First off, my diet isn't super clean, but it follows the nutrition plan fairly well: whole grains, water, lean protein, low fat/sugar/carbs/salt, no fried/processed foods, avoiding foods with artificial sweeteners, chemicals, flavors, etc. Now on to the workout, well, of course it's both very easy to commit to the program, each exercise lasts anywhere from 45-60 minutes, with 1 rest day per week. I stuck with the workouts by the book until Hurricane Sandy hit which left me without power for 10 straight days, that was a big let down, so I had to charge my dvd player miles away which became a nuisance, so my workouts weren't daily. In total, I think I completed about 6 weeks of the workout. You'll be dripping in sweat in 90% of the workouts even in December, which I personally love the feeling of soreness (I could hardly bend over to pick something off the ground on a few occasions). But seeing how the results weren't mind blowing, my pants were loose, I felt leaner, and I lost 10lbs, but I wasn't anymore ripped than before or could see any hint of a six pack (or four pack...or two pack), although I did see definition in my legs. Maybe it was poor form or I wasn't insane enough?(by the way, if you squats and jumping, you'll LOVE insanity)

Intense!
This is a really intense work out. It's nice because it's all body weight exercises, and is basically self paced. You can, and should, rest whenever needed. I would suggest doing this if you're already in somewhat decent shape, as that is when you will probably get the most out of it. The thing I like about it the most is you don't need any equipment (maybe a yoga mat if you're doing it on hardwood or tile). Also, don't freak out if you don't see results fast. Basically, your body needs to adapt to the crazy work out you're putting it through. While it adapts your muscles will hold onto more water than necessary. After about 5 weeks you'll start seeing drastic changes from week to week. Also, just keep in mind it's a conditioning work out, not a strength building work out. So, you'll lose weight, and look more defined, but it's not going to help your power numbers. There's some push up exercises and triceps exercises, but the real focus is on conditioning. It will get you into amazing cardiovascular shape though. I definitely feel like I'm in the best shape of my life since high school. Well worth the money, and it's really fun. I'm nearing the end of my 2 months, and a bit conflicted on what to do next. No matter what I choose, I'll definitely miss the Insanity workouts.

Feel the burn! Good videos with a variety of workout options.
I tend to think I am a fairly fit guy... these videos made me question that! I workout very regularly. I bought these for those days that I don't have time to drive to the gym or just a change of pace. These videos definitely provide a solid challenge and make workouts interesting. These videos have definitely helped me increase my cardio capacity. Insanity videos are more focused on burning fat and cardio activities. These videos are not focused on weight training and muscle building like the popular P90X series by the same producers. There are portions that are designed to build muscle but they are all body weight exercises: push ups, dips, etc. The workouts have different participants working at different levels of intensity for any user. I recommend using a heart rate monitor because these will definitely get your heart rate elevated if you push yourself.

TRULY intense
Let me begin by identifying myself as a fit individual. This workout program is INTENSE. I thought I had a rigorous physical training program before starting, but day 1 floored me as does every stage of this program. Just when you start to get accustomed it changes up and wipes the floor with you again. The first month is challenging and very fun. Month 2 is the second phase of the workout and the fun wears off a little because of the huge jump in physical intensity. And yet despite the difficulty, its still addictive. The results are truly fantastic. But be forewarned, this work out is NOT for the person looking to start a workout program. You HAVE to be in very good shape to START the program. And a critical factor for getting the results this program offers is dedication. You have to give every workout everything you have, and follow all the instructions. Insanity is not an easy get fit program by any means. It requires you to destroy your bad habits and old conventions to get a beast of a body. The routines require a good deal of floor space of at least 10ft by 15ft. You can do it in smaller spaces, but that adds a great deal of risk to the workout as you'll jeopardize your form or risk impacting an object, wall, etc. Unlike P90X the only equipment required for this program is a good pair of shoes (you need the support) and non-restrictive, cool clothing. I would not recommend doing this program on a surface that is smooth either as the sweat that pours off you will make the floor very slick and unsafe. SERIOUSLY research this product before starting, because it demands a lot out of you and at its price if you aren't willing to follow through then you will be wasting a large chunk of change.
